Review: KamaSutra Chocolate Caress Honey Dust

    2
By Swinging With The Becketts on September 4, 2011 Product Reviews, Reviews, Written

Upon receiving the iridescent KamaSutra Chocolate Caress Honey Dust tin I was quite excited. I’ve never used a KamaSutra product and really had never heard much in general from friends if they had ever used the product line. I immediately popped off the top and was OVERPOWERED by the scent of chocolate – I had thought for a moment that I had opened a new canister of Hersey’s Cocoa Powder and was about to make some brownies. On I went with my culinary err – chocolaty adventure? HeHe

I was somewhat perplexed on how the feather duster came into play with the Chocolate Caress Honey Dust. In looking at it, it seemed like it would not do a sufficient job in what is assumed of applying the Chocolate Caress Honey Dust. I dipped the feather duster into the opaque chocolate smelling powder and only the tippy tops of the feather duster were lightly covered with the powder. When moving the feather duster out of the pouch most of the dust fell off then needing reapplication. This became frustrating. I lightly applied the dust to my skin and sheets and had a few of the feathers fall out of the duster.

After applying KamaSutra Chocolate Caress Honey Dust to my skin I didn’t notice much except smelling like candy. Running my hands over the area that had the Chocolate Caress Honey Dust applied to it felt slightly gritty and when rubbing the tips of my fingers together they did not feel “silky smooth” as the package mentions but more tacky and dry craving moisture. To this I licked and tasted the Chocolate Caress Honey Dust which tasted nothing like chocolate at all and was not pleasant to my taste buds. It wasn’t sweet or tart and really had no taste to it at all.

I also applied the Chocolate Caress Honey Dust to my sheets (note: sheets are navy blue). As mentioned the powder is an opaque color and left a white residue on the sheets. In running my hands and other body parts over the sheets I still felt grittiness and it was overall unpleasant.

While I was excited at the beginning to get this my overall experience was less than favorable. It was extremely hard to get past the potent cocoa smell and continue to smell that way for at least a day even after showering. The scent permeates your skin and pores. I would not recommend this to anyone who has allergies or is prone to skin irritations. The product would make a great gift for a bachelorette party, girls night in (or out) or other adult party. While I am thankful for being given the opportunity to review KamaSutra Chocolate Caress Honey Dust….I’m glad I didn’t spend the money on it because it really seems overpriced for what it is and the quality of the product. I would have felt that I paid a lot for a decorative tin.

Rubbing it out for your info,
    Bailey

Ack! Sorry it wasn't good for you, Bailey. Try Shunga's edible body powder. It's definitely silky smooth, tasty, and doesn't leave residue on your sheets!
