On Ep 27, the Swingset interviews Christopher Ryan, author of the bestselling book Sex At Dawn which challenges the idea that monogamy is natural and ingrained in human beings. We discuss bonobos, a species that sexually is far more similar to us than chimpanzees, and the very porn-like videos of this species enjoying themselves. We postulate that the matriarchal societies described in Sex At Dawn are very reflective of the swinging and polyamorous lifestyles.

This was an amazing podcast. One of your very very best to date. Mr Ryan, and his wonderful book could change the world. 🙂
A delightful interview. I strongly recommend you interview Curt Bergstrand an academic sociologist at Bellarmine University, Louisville, KY who has written a book Swinging in America. Although this book talks at some length about the swing community, its strength lies in a major deconstruction of monogamy. He explores why monogamy does not work for so many and why the therapeutic community has such difficulty dealing with polyamory and swinging. And he actually recommends that more people explore swinging and polyamory as a solution of marital habituation or boredom. Don't miss this book.

Thanks for the recommendation, I’m looking into it!
