“Hello Mr. and Mrs. Doubleplay,
This is Jane (not my real name). Believe it or not we have actually met and said hello a couple of times in our real life. We met about two years ago right around the first time you messaged us. I know you well enough to know that I like you and think we could be friends but not enough to know if we can trust you. Beyond that, we actually have a few mutual friends and cross paths from time to time.
We have had a strict a ‘no locals’ rule that has served us well so far. We have been beyond discrete because I am paranoid of even the slightest whispers about us and this lifestyle; too many judgers that wouldn't understand.
To be honest I'm still trying to figure out what role I want this lifestyle to play in my life and how to even define ourselves within it! I'm the one that plays and hubby watches and sometimes joins. I don't consider myself bi, or attracted to girls, and I'm not ready for full swap.
We have registered for the same party as you at the local club. This event will be our first party of this nature and we have no idea what to expect! The fact that you will be going presents an interesting situation for us. You'll recognize us and we'll be “out” to you whether we want to be or not. So I don't know where that leaves us.
Would I love to have local friends that are sexually free thinkers to hang out with from time to time? YES! So let me propose this…. Would you please have Mrs. D email me here.”
You can imagine our questions. Who was this couple that has been observing us from afar for two years? Are they attractive? Are they trustworthy?
I emailed back and asked them to please reveal themselves. It is only fair given how much they know about us. Thankfully, they did share who they were. And it turns out this mysterious woman is the hot mama that my husband has been ogling at the kids’ soccer games for two years. If he were to pick a woman in this town to be the mystery lady, he probably would pick her.
I set up a plan to meet this wonder woman for lunch at a local café. The suspense is killing us. In the meantime Mr. D and I are having some extremely hot sex ourselves as we fantasize about the possibilities. To be continued…

We know exactly what you are going through and in so many levels. We were newbies and hit that “hurdle” right away with close friends. The four of us decided not to pursue anything LS related with each other… That lasted about a year. A few months ago we finally talked ans went all out and was awesome! For the four… But not only that, we had discovered 2 new couples in our neighborhood, one is a block after us, one a block before us… Now the overnighters have a very short commute…. 🙂
Dear Jules,
Maybe I should move to your street!
The first swingers party I attended six years ago, I ran into my youngest son’s 1st grade teacher. Six months later, I ran in my other son’s 4th grade teacher. After years of both swinging and polyamorous relationships, I don’t hide it. I don’t announce it to “vanillas”, but I don’t go through the awkward nervous thing any longer. I find people gravitate more toward me, not less. Unless they’re very dull, boring people.
