There are a couple of key safety tips to note. The nooks and crannies that give it texture make toy wipes ineffective at keeping it clean. So, it must be washed with soap and water. Because it’s waterproof, it makes cleaning easy, but also fun for use in the bath or hot tub. However, even if using it in water, you shouldn’t use silicone-based lubricants, as they will damage the exterior of the toy.
The base of the Ceres Lace Massager resembles polished glass with a stainless alloy push button controller. The button is used to cycle through seven vibration patterns. Turning it off is a matter of just holding the button down for about three seconds. The first pattern is that of a simple, traditional vibration. The remaining six are different variations (alternating speeds, escalating from low to high, different durations at various speeds, etc.). For me, the patterns themselves are of mixed quality. I tend to be more sensitive during external play, so a straight vibration at a lower speed would have been a welcome addition to the straight “high” setting. Two of the settings move too quickly through the pattern, which was more distracting than pleasurable. Another of the patterns was neither great nor terrible. But, the remaining settings are more than enough to make this toy fun to use. However, I recognize some of these are personal preferences and what didn’t work for me might be “just right” for someone else.
On the flip side, the power behind the patterns is what ranks this as something other than just another vibrator. Running off of two AA batteries, I was surprised to find the power to be above average for a battery operated vibrator. If the Ceres were any stronger, it would truly belong in the “massager” category of toys.
I was also pleasantly surprised that the Ceres Lace Massager lived up to its claim of being “whisper quiet.” I’ve seen lots of vibrating toys make the same assertion, only to find the claim to be exaggerated. In order to be certain, I enlisted my partner’s help to test the noise level. Fortunately, it rarely takes much arm twisting for him to be willing to put in his two cents on any new toys that come our way. We went through several different scenarios and tests. The result being that the only situation where the toy could be heard by someone else is if they’re in the same room where it’s being used with no other sources of noise. In other words, the person using the toy will likely be louder than the toy itself.
All-in-all, while the KEY™ Ceres Lace Massager by Jopen isn’t perfect, I would recommend it to others who want a fun, pretty vibrator with some built-in variety.

So sorry to hear you had a problem! Since most retailers don’t accept returns on this kind of product, if it were me, I would contact Jopen directly. Their website has a “Contact Us” section. Here’s the link… http://www.jopen.com/t-contact.aspx
